Why does this musician/entertainer's website seem to partly be a business website?
Any serious musician/entertainer is a businessperson: They want to make a living selling their products; so they are a business.
It's a heck of a lot easier to set up a business online at first, even if it becomes a more physical than online business eventually. That applies to musicians/entertainers too - So as a musician/entertainer it's good to have an online business - even if it's only a part of the whole business setup - based around a blog / website.

Why does this musician/entertainer's website seem to partly be a technology website?
Any serious musician/entertainer needs technical assistance or likes to add to their technical know-how: They want to make a living with what they earn; not spend it all on paid professional technical help. The more technical stuff a musician/entertainer knows the better it will be for them.

This EP * Up To Your Eyes * is a musical experiment. As such I haven’t included a lot of vocals [ –because there aren’t, really, a lot of vocals: Some, but ‘not a lot’. ]; though there are some, particularly in the title track. While creating this I wanted to fuse genres and sub-genres; just like I did with Glam Rock and Punk Rock when I invented Glam Punk – which never really took off. I suppose there was Peacock Punk in the 1970s, which is a similar sub-genre. This time around I’m fusing D&B with Techno. – The track * D&B Tech * stands as glaring testament to that.
If you want my honest opinion I think, on the whole, the results of the * Up To Your Eyes * experiment should be noted and stashed away in a similar manner to those many inventions of the 20th Century that were issued patents but never took off because, although they worked and accomplished their desired function; they weren’t the next in-thing and they didn’t have a huge-niche-value, they didn’t excite everybody to want to possess one.
But that’s my opinion: I’m a tech-nerd-ette, a geek who not only wants to see the wiring under the board, but also wants a full circuit-diagram of it too, as well as to pull it apart and rebuild it, copy it, and try to improve upon the original design. I did that with electronics and computers; now I’m doing the same with music.
– And therefore, whilst experimenting as above I created this 6-track EP. In fact I created almost 30 tracks, but abandoned some, and others are still as yet unfinished.
So to the interesting bit… OK in a manner of speaking perhaps: But unless you consume the following you’ll be a lot less clued-up on what you hear.
Track 1: – * Up To Your Eyes *
– is a track about debt. Some people have no problem with debt. – Indeed it seems that many people appear to accept it as a necessary part of life and immerse themselves deeply in it. Doing that would be a progenitor of a major nervous breakdown in my case.
I see these people with million-pound mortgages and living on MasterCard and Visa… And they’re working night and day 7 days a week to stay on top of it; slaving for their bosses in multiple jobs to generate the pittance they’re paid in order to pay off their debts on an ongoing basis
I also see these people who don’t have either the income to keep on top of their debts nor the wherewithal to either manage their financial situation nor to get themselves out of that situation of permanent financial indebtedness. These people put on a brave front as they sink quickly into the quagmire of financial ruin. I see people work all week to spend the weekend buying clothes which they’ll never wear, poisoning themselves slowly into an early grave with regular alcohol and narcotic intake – to wake up on Monday penniless and work all week to do it all again.
‘Rather you than me; that’s all I’ll say about that.
Here are Track 1,* Up To Your Eyes * ’s lyrics: –
Up To Your Eyes – Lyrics written by Sharron-Idol: May 28th 2016 Copyright property of Sharron-Idol & Ice Recordings. – All Rights Reserved.
Verse 1: Sitting in my room ‘Foetus in a womb Lookin’ out on the gloom on a Sunday. From a folder there spills A pi-le of bills. O-ver-due debt for thrills. – Pay by Monday.
Chorus 1: – And the band would play And the man would say: “You’ll have to pay.”. – We’ll charge you some-da-ay. And the band plays on. The man goes on: “You have not got long. – We’ll-get-you-one-day.” (Repeat for extended version…)
Verse 2: Mammon has sayed These bills must be payed. – Right now I’m afraid. – It’s quite shocking. So pay them this week Or Mammon will seek: Debt-agents of doom will come knocking.
Chorus 2: – And the band still plays And the man still says: “You’ll have to pay.”. – We’ll charge you some-day. As the band plays on. The man goes on: “You have not got long. – We’ll-get-you-one-day.” (Repeat for extended version…)
Verse 3: Well it’s my lucky streak: I charted this week: Number 1 – it’s unique; It’s such good luck. I’m doing so well, so Fuck Mammon to Hell. – Oh: Once I’ve paid them as well They can get fucked.
Chorus 3 : And the band still plays And the man still says: “You had to pay.”. – We charged you to-day. And the band played on. And the man went on: “Would you like a loan?.- Lots – of – time – to re-pay.” (Repeat for extended version …)
Verse 4 : Debt will surprise you: Right up to your eyes – you’re Spi-rall-ing down-ward and into a pit. A loan may distress you; Cre-dit could de-press you. You’ll be owned by big business; And in the shit.
Chorus 4 : And the band still plays And the man still says: “You had to pay.”. – We charged you to-day. And the band played on. And the man went on: “Would you like a loan?.- Lots-of-time-to re-pay.” (Repeat for extended version …)
– Link –
Chorus 5 (finale’): Then the band would play And the man would say: “You’ll have to pay.”. – We’ll charge you some-day. And the band plays on. The man goes on: “You have not got long. – We’ll-get-you-one-day.” (Repeat for extended version…)
So that was the title track of * Up To Your Eyes *.
– The reference to “Mammon” meaning big business and commercial enterprise, the Capitalist status-quo.
Just as I’m writing this [over the weekend] my internet has gone offline due to an engineer working on the public network. I’m expecting it to come back online in the next 2 hours. Until then I have an active telephone, which uses the same network, namely BT in the UK – plus a connected and active LAN (Local Area Network) – but no actual internet connection with the World Wide Web on my normal setup. I can connect to 4G via my iPhone, but an iPhone doesn’t make the greatest connection.
Moving on; and Track #2 is the extended-version of Track #1.
Track #3 – * Acid Engineer *
– is dedicated to the sound engineer. – That’s me in my case. – I do everything except distribute the release… Oh and I no longer build or renovate my own equipment; because it’s quicker, as well as having become as cost-effective if not more cost-effective, to buy ready-made, new, off-the-shelf. I might do a few upgrades after that; but that’s all these days.
Your sound-engineer may vary, and he or she possibly is leased to you along with studio-time.
Always treat your sound-engineer well: They can make you or break you; they can make you sound awesome or totally shit. Treat he or she like a member of the band – even if only temporarily. Buy them a drink and work with them.
The sound-engineer in the song is on acid; which could end up with some very interesting effects.
Acid Engineer by Sharron-Idol Lyrics copyright Sharron-Idol/Ice Recordings June 2016
I’m your – sound en-gin-eer on acid. I’m a – tech-ni-cian who’s tripped out. I want – to beat-i-fy your mu-sic: ‘Teach you – what tune is all a-bout.
Lis-ten – as I pre-pare your mu-sic. Hear as – I e-qual-ise your sound. Watch as – I make you sound ap-pealing. Your au – di-ence all ga-thered round.
I fix – the fre-quen-cies and le-vels. I mix – the in-stru-mental tracks. Your sound – is ac-tu-ally my sound. You’ve got – the front, I’ve got your back.
I am your sound-geek on LSD: I am your a-cid en-gin-eer. I think up sounds you’ve ne-ver heard of. I am your bri-ght-est bright-idea!
I see the sound in terms of co-lour; Cas-ca-ding in a higher form of light. I feel the en-er-gies of rhy-thm. I make your mu-sic out of sight.
I’m your – sound en-gin-eer on acid. I’m a – tech-ni-cian who’s tripped out. I try – to beau-ti-fy your mu-sic: ‘Teach you – what colour is a-bout.
Track #4 has the DJ at it yet again:
Once more I’m at the club and dancing into the small-hours. The night is getting old and I’m starting to get tired and wind down. – Perhaps some more acid should do the trick? : –

Track #5 – * D&B Tech * was my latest hybrid-music experiment,
in which I attempted to fuse D&B with Techno.
There’s really no need to bother with a lyrics sheet, as you’ll note when you listen. No I have absolutely no idea as to whether you’ll like it or not. I didn’t achieve the effect that I’d envisioned, and was a little disappointed.
I tried again with a new beat in Track #6 – * Random Noyz * -; but I still didn’t quite manage to hit what I was aiming for.
OK everybody: The current state of the financial markets in view of Brexit is good for UK’s overseas trading in terms of imports or exports; I can’t remember which. Whatever the case; if you want to help a financially-struggling musician then now is the time. – Start buying my music.
There’s a whole list of releases- on CD Baby, iTunes and others – with more on the way this Summer 2016; as seen above.
Have a great day, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do: – But if you do; don’t get caught. 😉
*This is my Brexit-spanning EP:- The tracks on this EP were created pre-Brexit decision, and distributed/sold post-Brexit decision.
