Why would I need anybody to fix my computer? I have a technical background; I used to build and program/optimise + repair desktop PCs for a living. I currently sell myself as a tech-geeky artist/musician… So what’s going on?
The issue at hand is time: I have a working schedule which I like to keep to as much as is possible.
I’m quite capable of doing my own repairs and sorting out software issues myself, and I will always attempt to do so before hiring out the work to an expert: Something which I like to call “Rent-A-Geek”.
Rather recently; days before I wrote this article in fact, I had a software issue in which I rebooted a laptop and it refused to connect to the internet. I set about diagnosing the issue and attempting repairs, but I got caught up in it and spent all night attempting to fix my computer without any positive result.
Spending all night doing it meant that I was tired out and was going to get behind schedule anyway.
The only way to alleviate the problem was to stop trying to fix my computer myself, stop the software repairs, get some sleep, and try to catch up on the schedule.
There was only one thing for it:
The company that I used was SalisburyPCdoctor: Run by Luke Wilkinson; the company operates from Wilton in the County of Wiltshire, in Southern England, near to where I’m often based.
SalisburyPCdoctor fix Android phones, iPhones, tablets, laptops, PCs iPads, and Macs – with genuine original components where required. The standard of workmanship is always good to excellent; and the job usually costs less than you’d expect. Luke will usually give you a quote or an estimate before starting the work; so that there are no surprises on completion.
The issue was diagnosed and the laptop eventually returned to the studio – working.
– Target neutralised.
I set out to explain something to anyone who was interested; and I ended up writing a commercial post for SalisburyPCdoctor. I just hope Luke will allow me extra discount if I need to Rent-A-Geek in the future.
Do get yourself on my emailing list. – It would be a shame to let this meeting pass by and never the twain to meet again.
- 'Simply one more edifying post. - Enjoy.
