Emsisoft Products Make You NOT WannaCry( 'Takes about 2 minutes to read. )
- 'Simply one more edifying post. - Enjoy.
Starting Friday 12th May 2017, a ransomware attack by the name of WannaCry has taken hold of more than 300,000 computers and caused global chaos. – If only they all had Emsisoft products installed; things would look a lot brighter.
Note: Since late September/early October 2017, Sharron-Idol no longer supports or endorses Emsisoft Antimalware. This is due to an under-performance by Emsisoft Antimalware in one of her own installations; resulting in a fairly severe infection by a Trojan and a dropper/downloader bug.
This ransomware began infecting businesses, government branches and families in more than 100 countries. Using exploits originally discovered and kept secret by the NSA, it gained access via a vulnerability in Microsoft Windows to demand a ransom to decrypt files.
Good News: Emsisoft customers are protected
If you’re a licensed customer of Emsisoft Anti-Malware or Emsisoft Internet Security, your computer remains protected from WannaCry. Due to Emsisoft’s Behaviour Blocker technology, which does not rely on malware signatures but instead detects suspicious software behaviour, encryption of your files will be prevented and the malware quarantined.
If you are using a free, scanner-only version of Emsisoft software, however, you do not have this type of protection enabled, so please check that you have a valid license. You can renew your existing Emsisoft license or purchase a license for one of our security solutions here.
In addition it’s strongly recommended that you install the latest Microsoft security updates to close the vulnerability if you haven’t done so already. Microsoft released a customer guidance and additional patches for previously unsupported operating systems following the attack.
Emsisoft see ransomware as one of the biggest threats, and will continue their commitment to provide their customers with the best possible malware protection.
Ransomware never sleeps; but – fortunately – nor do Emsisoft.

If you like my music and/or my website/articles I'd like you to come back some time. - In fact I'd like to stay in touch with you, and have you come back here to this site sometime.
The only way I can think of to achieve this is to ask you to leave me an email address on which I can contact you... So I'll tell you what I'll do: I'll give you almost 30 minutes of my self-composed mix in exchange for your email address. - 'Good deal yeah? - 'Great, we're singing from the same lyric-sheet here, as it were.
When you enter your email address below and click "Get It Now", you'll be taken to my "Thank You" page, where you can download your music, and click on links to more of my stuff if you're interested too.
Since I will then have your email address I'll send you email from time to time; like when I have something interesting to say, or when I release something, or even when I think there's something I've found that you'd be interested in.
You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time if you get fed up with getting them, and I won't complain about it. - And you won't hear from me again; unless you re-subscribe.
'Sound good to you? OK let's do this: 'See the stuff below? Follow the instructions - it's really easy - and we're away. 'See you there...
