Deejay (Remix) Album Art

”Deejay

Imagine yourself staying late at a club as the beat of the music combined with your body’s gyrations takes you higher and higher – while the adrenaline-rush boosts you to another place. – Yet still you see the flickering lights and hear the quality music echoing around as the lasers flash their precision-straight-beams in rhythmic crescendo all around, simulating the crescendos of the music by means of light.

CrowdYou’re sure that you keep catching the eye of the DJ, and his smile is surely a promise for deeper into the early-hours of the morning? – But for now the night is still young; so before the club closes you’re intending to get the very best from the night while still on the dance floor. You’re tired-out in reality, but the adrenalin-high is giving you seemingly unlimited ‘go-drive’. You request the DJ to play more tracks, even though it looks as if he’s ready to call it a night beneath the obvious desire for you.

Idea

I had the idea which kicked off this release when I heard the tunes and/or part of the lyrics of nursery rhymes being used in songs which were or had been in the charts.
[* Play the video below.]
I started thinking to myself: –

‘Hey that’s so kool; like easiest thing in the world to get inspiration from, and it’s taken all these years for an artist to think of it. – Hmm – I should get on this bandwagon too.’

Shut That Door!So I wrote the first-draft of * Deejay * to the tune of “Chick Chick Chicken; Lay a Little Egg for Me”. – And to be honest I didn’t like it at all: The tune was ancient and the lyrics sounded all wrong; even though they scanned perfectly and fitted the tune precisely. More than that; did I have any chance of seeing the release chart in any way at all in that form? – Only in the ‘Bottom of the Crap-Pile’ charts maybe. –> There ya go MTV – get to work on compiling the new chart I just invented! 😉 (I’m sure I’ll make it at least once to Number 1 in that chart at some point in my career. 😀 )

Thinking

I got thinking: ‘What do those other artists do that I’m not doing’? Answer = they give it their own personal twist. – For instance in the tune of “Somebody That I Used To Know”; the writer has dropped a note from the tune of ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’, and run the synthesized music thru a vocoder by the sound of it. Also they’re not using the tune of the nursery Rhyme in its entirety, but rather they’re using it as a link.

Yeah I could do that too. – But it’s already been done: ‘Drop at least 100 places in the charts for unoriginality. – OK so what if I gave the tune my personal twist but changed it beyond almost all recognition?
Instead of

“Dee-dee-dee-dee-deejay; play another tune for me…”

– which might have some traction at an under-5’s party; let’s give it some ‘oomph’ :-

“De-de-deejay – hey! – ‘Another track for me:
‘Dancin in this club. – It’s nearly half-past-three!’

Yeah I like it! – OK take it and develop it from there. – And I did.

– So I have a pop-nursery-rhyme with a tune to match.

– Mhm – it’ll sell to primary-school-kids as a ringtone on their mobile phone maybe. This is on the right tracks but it needs an overhaul to give it the steam to become a mainline-locomotive.

DeejayI started off in music by creating unofficial remixes in my capacity as DJ Shazzalive – So I’m thinking
‘if I can remix anything I can remix my own work.’.
I thought of the great will.i am for further inspiration…

Oh no – not so easy on this one: ‘See unless I can do some musical alchemy I’m always gonna be faced with the fact that if I start off with crap, no matter how I mix it and what I mix it with, I’m still gonna end up with a part-crap-mix.

To cut a long story short

I was in the studio for ages with this; rewriting and re-composing; eventually to end up with this release.

I’m going to be producing more in the future; and each time I do so I’m hoping to excel myself in comparison to my last release. I don’t do ‘good enough’ – I do good as a start, and from there I only do ‘better than before’.

OK now move on to the lyrics…

– There’s a saying: ‘The definition of insanity is doing the same thing in the same way and expecting a different result.’ – And to my mind that partially explains why a lot of entertainers’ careers last at most a few years and they’re forgotten. (Of course there’s a lot more to it than just that; but this could well be just one contributing factor in a lot of cases. ) If you give your best you get appreciated if your best is good enough. If you decide your best is good enough the appreciation soon dies off because someone else comes along and does what you do better. – That applies to me, to you, to everyone.

I’m hoping to be giving my best for a long time; because I’m going to be making my best better for a long time.

…Sharron – The lyrics please…

So anyway – This is * Deejay – Remix *. This is a result of effort. I hope you enjoy it, because there’s more on the way, and the best keeps getting better.
